Nasty bindings

I'm glad I've had a chance to practice on my Elements Art Journal with a note book I already had covered in scrapbooking papers.         

It's a spiral bound book and now I know that isn't suitable for what I want for my Art Journals.

As you can see from the picture I've covered the binding with masking tape and I'll do something about that later on, also the covering of scrapbooking paper isn't what I want to use for Elements so I've just added a leaf from the garden which sort of resembles the pictures of rose leaves, and I've made a little 'river' of water ending in a jewel 'pool'.   

I'll probably darken the whole thing over time as the 'pink' background doesn't speak Elements to me!

    Kat,

    I have used heaps of spiral bound journals and my kids use them as well, I love that I can remove or add pages at a whim :)

    I also can decorate the spiral at a later date, after I have finished covering it in paint and various other mediums every chance I get lol.

    Do you ever get down my way? I would love to have you over for a cup of tea and a chat.
