It's New Year's Eve here on the North coast of New South Wales and a beautiful day full of sunshine and gentle breeze. I'm heading back into town to be there to start on Lifebook 2013 when it starts on 01/01/2013. I've also got a wonderful new art site to play in this new year. One Little House is the brainchild of my dear friend Jeanette (Maisy) House and is her brand new art site with lots of wonderful teachers including my lovely friend Louise Kirby, River girl Art. It's going to be an exciting year filled with art. Wishing anyone who reads here a most wonderful New Year filled with many blessings.

I've neglected this blog all year...and there's not much of 2012 left. I'm going to make an effort to add a few thoughts here from time to time from now on. I've been really busy all year with Lifebook from Tam at Willowing. It's been a great year for getting art done....I really respond to being a bit nudged along and Tam has been really great at that, so much so that during the challenge to do some catching up with classes we were behind on, I won a place in LifeBook 2013 so that was totally wonderful. I'm also making an effort to do more prompts from Christy's Art Geeks because I seem to respond well to her challenges and I love her techniques. I have an altered book which is mostly full of prompts from Art Geeks and I think I'll start a larger art journal based on Art Geeky stuff. A couple of weeks ago I had a brainwave based on a habit I've had for years and years (which I'm not going to reveal just yet) and I'm hoping this will come to fruition during 2013. Being mysterious I know but I don't want to put the kibosh on such a new idea. I'll let it out on a leash for awhile and see if it works then I'll reveal all! A parcel arrived today with all the backing sheets I've ordered to make up my LifeBook 2012 when we put it all together in December, very exciting. OK...enough for now, really busy sorting through boxes and boxes and bags and bags of things I haven't seen for many years....there's lots I remember and lots I've forgotten.....anyway.....back to the sorting. Almost forgot, yesterday I saw a baby Giraffe born. Greenville Zoo in South Carolina had setup a camera to keep watch over Autumn (the first time mother) and I'd been watching for days and days and yesterday (really midnight the night before their time) the dearest little darling Giraffe was born.....in almost no time he/she was on her/his feet and in a further hours he/she was doing little running steps and feeding from his/her devoted new Mum. It was a very special experience and one I won't soon forget.

from mid to late 2011

The pictures below are all from about August/September - December 2011.

Earth

It took me a long while to be satisfied with this page from Elements ... but finally, here it is.

Angel

For this prompt we were told to create an Angel in the style of A. Mucha.....this is my attempt.

Dance for the Goddess

Towards 2012

This coming year I plan to do a LOT of art!

I've signed up for LifeBook with Tamara Laport from Willowing and there will be 15 artists setting prompts for us (over 500 of us!) all through the year.....should keep me busy!

As well as those classes I intend to work on portraits this year as I find I love to paint people....maybe animals too, but we'll see what the year brings.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Season and Solstice (or whatever Holiday you celebrate), and I wish you the very best New Year and a wonderful 2012!
